On Thursday, November 9th I went to my first
Stampin’ UP convention, in Salt Lake City, Utah! What a cool experience! I’m
part of an amazing SU team, most of whom are spread all over the country, so it
was a real treat to be able to meet women from Idaho, California, Washington,
and Texas whom I had only seen in Facebook pictures! What a lovely group of
women they are! I’m so fortunate to have had my upline, and friend, MaryKate
Scott, guide me through the three-day convention; there is a learning curve;)
I saw the founder of Stampin’ UP, Shelly Gardner, and her
daughter, current CEO, Sara Douglass speak, and I had the pleasure of seeing
many demonstrations on Spring 2018 products (you’re in for a real treat). I was
also able to play with new products for 4 of the new product suites! I can’t
show pictures yet, but will when I can! (There are rules when you get a sneak
peek!)
So, usually at events like these, demonstrators swap cards.
Some people bring LOTS of cards and swap at random. I was in a planned swap
with my team, swapping just 12. I wanted to make something bright and cheery, so
this is my swap…
I used the Softly Falling
Impressions folder on Bermuda Bay paper for a nice base texture. From Whole Lot
of Lovely DSP I used a strip to bring a whimsical feel to the card, I added
some Crushed Curry twine, and stamped the Sweet Cupcake multi step cupcake and
used Framelits to cut the base and frosting out! The greeting is from the Sweet
Cupcake stamp set too. I cut the ovals to frame the greeting using the Stitched
Shapes Framelits – A new purchase for me and I love them! Of course I added a
few rhinestones and Wink of Stella, because what is a card without a little
bling?
Questions on how to make the card?
Let me know!
